Longhirst Host 2010 PGA EuroPro Tour

Longhirst Golf Club was delighted to welcome the EuroPro Tour to its facilities within the Longhirst Estate when it hosted the golf tour last month.

The EuroPro is the "future of golf tour" and is recognised as such by the Professional Golfers Association.

Almost 600 players are registered to the tour, playing in 22 tournaments in the UK and Europe, culminating in the final in Portugal on the Algarve in mid October.

Each event has an entry field of approximately 156 players and is played over 3 days over 54 holes. Total prize money for the season is over £1,000,000 with a minimum prize purse of £40,000 per event.

The EuroPro is filmed and broadcast by Sky Sports Television with viewing figures of approximately 7 million in the UK.
