Longhirst Welcomes New Pub with Real Historic Character

Longhirst Hall celebrated the official opening of its new Collingwood Bar & Restaurant, named after local naval hero, Admiral Cuthbert Collingwood, with a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by one of Admiral Collingwood’s descendants.

Mrs Susan Collingwood Cameron who is the great great great niece of Admiral Collingwood cut the navy blue ribbon and declared the new 200 seat bar officially open. She was joined by Longhirst Group Chief Executive Stephen Cowell, Captain Steve Healy Chairman of the Collingwood 2010 Festival Committee, Members of the Ashington Sea Cadets and Mr & Mrs Lawson Paris who are descendants of the Lawsons who were one of the original owners of Longhirst Hall.

The Collingwood bar serves local ales and food sourced from Collingwoods native Northumberland.
